Process manufacturing involves the transformation of ingredients such as gas, liquids, powders and other products of low complexity, in specific formulas, into products of high complexity. It is a feature of process manufacturing that the finished goods cannot be disassembled back into orginal products.

Examples of process manufacturing include refining crude oil into gasoline, pharmaceutical products, extracting copper from ore, processed foods and  combining materials to make paint adn coatings.
