road constructionThis Certificate III course provides nationally recognised training for persons wishing to enter or currently employed in the Civil Construction Industry.

The course covers the core civil construction units such as working safely, reading and interpreting plans and specifications, carrying out measurements and calculations, using hand and power tools, handling construction materials, locating and protecting underground services, draining and dewatering site, using small plant and equipment, organising work and workplace communication.

In addition, course participants may choose from a number of elective units in Road Construction including installing signs, sub-soil drainage,  crash barriers, concrete box culverts, maintain sealed roads and many more.

The Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction) requires a total of 25 units of competency. The program structure (see reverse side) can be tailored to suit individuals.

Learning and assessment activities are integrated into the workplace tasks and duties of participants and include group discussions, practical activities, coaching and work based assignments.
The program delivers key underpinning knowledge, group discussion, practical activities, review of workplace documents and workplace coaching.
